Everything You Should Know About Double Texting

Texting is one of the most popular methods of communication today, but that doesn’t mean that it is easy. There are no set rules when it comes to texting, and everyone has a different conversation style, so it can be difficult to know if you are getting it right – especially when it comes to double texting.

This is particularly true when it comes to double texting. Some people love receiving multiple texts, but other people hate it and think it is too intense – which can be a problem for double texters!

Do you send double texts regularly? If so, here is everything you should know about double texting.

1. Everything You Need To Know About Double Texting: They Might Not Have Time To Reply Yet

The other person may have seen your text, but if they are at work or socialising they may not have time to reply. This could be because they are focused on other important things, or they might be unsure how to respond, or they might want to send a proper reply that requires thought – either way, give them some time to reply.

2. Think Before You Text

If you are in a good mood and you like someone you may be tempted to spam them with texts to put a smile on their face, but in reality not everyone likes this. So before you send a second text, think about if it will add anything to their day. If not, stick to one text and wait; if they really like you, it is very likely that they will respond eventually!

3. Realise Double Texting Can Be Intense

Not everyone likes double texting – in fact, some people don’t even like texting! So try to avoid sending multiple long messages without waiting for a response. This could be very off-putting to the other person, especially if you only just started talking. So instead of sending a second text, go back through your conversation history and see if they send double texts. This will teach you more about their texting communication style.

4. Cut Communication If They Don’t Reply

If they haven’t replied for a few days, take the hint and cut communication. It can be tempting to assume they are really, really busy, but everyone can find the time to send at least one short message a day – just think about how many times a day people check their phones! So don’t keep texting a ghost; instead get back online and start matching with other people, and if they re-appear decide if you want to continue the relationship or not
