Tips For Dating In Your 60s

Tips For Dating In Your 60s

If you are newly single and you are in your 60s, you may be feeling a little nervous. After all, you may have been out of the dating game for years (or even decades), and if most of your friends are in relationships you could feel a little isolated.

However it isn’t all bad news… in fact, there are lots of fantastic things about dating in your 60s. You are more aware of what you want (and what you deserve!), and you will be part of a mature dating group, so you are more likely to meet someone who is serious about finding love.

Here are four tips for dating in your 60s.

1. Use Social Media To Practise Flirting

Social media makes it much easier for you to connect with people – and this includes old high school friends and crushes! So consider using social media to arrange a little online reunion of your own. This is a great way to practise virtual flirting, and who knows; you could find out that your high school crush is actually your soulmate!

2. Do The Things You Love

Try to be social in your area as well as online; head to the local library and museum, or take a cooking class if that appeals to you. This is a great way to connect with new people, but it is important to go into this with no expectations; if you talk to someone and they are already married, don’t worry about it. Simply smile and move on!

3. Check Out Your Local Meetups

Most cities have a local meetups organisation. There are normally lots of different groups that you can join, such as art groups, hiking groups and dining out groups. There are also normally groups for people over 60, so this is a great way to meet singles in your area.

4. Try Online Dating

Online dating expands the dating pool significantly, which can be very helpful if you live in a small area without many singles your age. It also makes it much easier for you to flirt with others if you feel uncomfortable flirting in real life!
