The DateBritishGuys team are happy to share another story about an engaged couple who met through our site. Jon and Jessica get engaged! Jessica, who lives in North Dakota, and Jon, who lives in Britain, first started talking to each other in 2015.
After she set up her profile, Jessica received a wink from Jon, and she noticed immediately that he had gorgeous green eyes. She said: “When I looked at his picture, I felt something very familiar and comfortable and winked back, and it was the best decision I have ever made in my whole life. Jon and I immediately started emailing several times a day and looked forward to each and every message.”
The loved-up pair soon started arranging dates on Skype, and they even made plans to meet in person. In June 2015 Jessica visited Jon in England for two weeks, and the pair clicked right from the start. She said: “It was the best time I’ve ever had in my entire life; it was like we had known each other for our entire lives and there was no awkwardness whatsoever. The site gave us the opportunity to fall in love with each other’s personality first, and I think that’s such a great foundation for a strong, successful relationship!”
What did you first love about each other?
Jess: “When we first started talking, I was awestruck by his warmth and genuine nature; I felt so comfortable talking to him, it was like we had known each other for years…we both like to think it was fate! As we got to know each other better, I realized that Jon was the man of my dreams! His sense of humor is second to none, he’s attentive, loving, sweet, generous, gorgeous, and treats me like a princess. He’s absolutely perfect to me and is my true Prince Charming!”
Jon: “When I first saw Jess’ profile on DBG I was immediately drawn to her. There was something about her profile that made me instantly want to contact her, it’s hard to describe what it was exactly, I like to think it was fate! I think we both realised after a couple of emails that we had a connection and it didn’t take long until we started Skyping. I was quite nervous before our first Skype date, but Jess was so easy to talk to and to listen to so I soon felt at ease.”
“That’s one of the many things I love about her, everything feels so natural. We met in person in June when Jess came over to visit me in Sheffield for 10 days and I had some of the best days of my life! I love Jess’ determined character and also that she is so kind and caring. “
The day before Jessica flew home, Jon proposed to Jessica and she said yes. Jessica said: “Jon asked me to marry him when I was visiting him in England this past summer! We are both very excited! We will be married this Christmas in the US while Jon is visiting me, and in the spring, I will be moving permanently to England. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams, and I am so thankful to DBG for bringing us together!”
The pair are now happily engaged, and they are both looking forward to the future; Jon is visiting Jessica in North Dakota in a few months, and their wedding is planned for spring 2017, when Jessica will be moving to England.
Jessica said; “I will be moving to England to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams and I cannot wait! I really want to thank you for creating this site; if it wasn’t for your site, I wouldn’t have met Jon and have found my happily ever after.”
