Important Dating Tips For Winter

Dating might not seem as appealing during winter, but in reality it is a great time to find love. Sure, the weather is super cold and COVID might have put a damper on things – but if you follow our tips, you could easily meet the love of your life before the cold season ends. Here are six useful dating tips for winter.

1. Useful Dating Tips For Winter: Don’t Let The Dark, Cold Weather Put You Off

Lots of people hate the dark nights and cold weather of winter, but that doesn’t mean that you should go into hibernation mode. However pausing your dating life isn’t necessary, especially if you are starting to feel a little lonely. Remember you don’t have to go outside to meet people; you can arrange Zoom dates or FaceTime dates, so you can meet new people from your sofa. No need to bundle up and go outside if you don’t want to!

2. Go All Out With Online Dating

Winter is the best time to embrace dating websites. In fact, research has found that January and February are two of the busiest months for online dating sign ups! So don’t miss all of the new people looking for love; make an effort to log onto your dating profile a couple of times a week, and aim to send at least one match or message every time you log on.

3. Don’t Go For A Virtual Coffee

The current pandemic is making it fairly difficult for people to meet in person, but that doesn’t mean the only option is a coffee Zoom date. Sure, coffee is a great second or third date – but when you are meeting for the first time, it can make the date feel a little like an interview. Coffee is also finished within an hour, so you don’t have much time to relax so you can show your real personality.

4. Consider A Virtual Brunch Date

A good alternative to a e-coffee date is an e-brunch date. You can either both order food, or you could cook the same thing (such as a simple omelet), and then when the food is ready you can start the date. This gives you more time to get to know each other, and the food aspect will make it feel more like a date (and less like a job interview!).

5. Don’t Be Afraid Of Your Inner Child

Lots of adults try to present themselves as mature and sophisticated on dates, but in reality we all have an inner child – and embracing it will make it easier for you to show your true personality. So set up a Zoom date walking through your own cities, and consider making snow angels or sledging. These fun activities are just as fun for adults as they are for children, and it is a great way to bond with your date.

6. Visit More Than One Location During The Date

Zoom dates are often restricted to one location (such as a coffee shop, your home or the park), but if you are having a great date you could always do something else afterwards. For example, if you go for a walk and you have a great time you could ask them to head back for a glass of mulled wine (at their own house, of course!), or you could suggest sitting down  for a coffee. This means you get more time together, and your crush will know that you are genuinely interested in them.
