Fun Things You Can Do If You Are Single On Valentine’s Day

Sometimes it can feel like there isn’t much for singles to do on Valentine’s Day. All of the restaurants and bars are fully booked, and the cinema and shopping centres are filled with happy couples. You don’t want to spend your day queueing and trying to make reservations, but you don’t want to sit inside doing nothing either.

Thankfully there are lots of things that you can spend your day doing. You may even have more fun than the couples – after all, you can do whatever you want, and you don’t have to share your snacks and wine with anyone else!

This Valentine’s Day is all about falling in love with yourself. Here are 8 fun things that you can do if you are single on Valentine’s Day.

1. Take Your Best Friend On A Date

Spend this Valentine’s Day showing your best friend how much they mean to you. You may be single, but that doesn’t mean that you have to be alone; you have lots of people around you who love you very much. Make a reservation at your favorite coffee shop or restaurant and tell your best friend to dress up in an outfit that they love. It is guaranteed to be a great date, and your best friend will appreciate the gesture.

2. Spoil Yourself

Instead of spoiling someone else this Valentine’s Day, spoil yourself! Book the day off work and go shopping in the city, or treat yourself to a new pair of designer shoes. You may not be in a relationship, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve a treat!

3. Cook Your Favorite Meal

Buy the ingredients for your favorite meal and a bottle of wine. Put on an album that you love and spend the evening dancing around the kitchen cooking, and then eat a meal that you truly love.

4. Play ‘Secret Cupid’ With Your Friends

Round up your single friends for a game of Secret Cupid. It’s basically Secret Santa in February, and it is a great way to make sure that everyone feels special and loved on a day that is normally reserved for people in relationships. Make sure to set a budget so that everyone knows how much to spend!

5. Have A Singles Get Together

Invite your single friends around for a night of relaxing, chatting, laughing and snacking. Buy lots of nibbles and drinks, create a playlist (that doesn’t include love songs) and spend the night with the people that you love.

6. Fall In Love With Something New

Is there something that you’ve always wanted to try but never got around to? This Valentine’s Day fall in love with something new; try a yoga class or a cooking class, or go to the gym for the first time. You could find a new passion – and if not, you’ve ticked it off your to-do list.

7. Make A Stranger Smile

Try to make a stranger smile when you are in public on Valentine’s Day. Lots of people feel lonely at this time of the year, but a small smile could turn their whole day around. If you want to go a step further, consider volunteering.

8. Get Supplies And Stay At Home

If you’re sick of seeing loved up couples and hearing cheesy music, buy some supplies and spend the whole day inside. You can watch movies, listen to music, tidy up, have a relaxing bubble bath – whatever you want. Just make sure to get everything that you need before the day rolls around!
